UBC’s Got Talent 2011
UBC’s Got Talent highlights musical, dancing, theatrical, spoken word, singing or other performing talents of the UBC community. In 2011, the show received 124 talented auditions, 15 of whom performed for an energetic crowd who filled up the Chan Centre on Jan 14. Congratulations to them for making UBC’s Got Talent a roaring success!
Prof. Toope and I promised to sing a duet to a song picked by the community if the Chan Centre fills up (1,000+ seats). The song Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics received more than 800 votes.
The University Neighbouhood Association was the top sponsor for the event, and showcased its success in building a model sustainable community at UBC Point Grey Campus.
The other generous sponsors for the event were UBC’s Human Resources, UBC Alumni Association, UBC Bookstore, Naturland Organic, The AMS and the UBC Community United Way Campaign.
